SALT Core

What It Means to Belong to SALT Core
SALT (Shining and Learning Together) is a homeschool community where families walk the homeschool journey side by side. SALT Core is built on connection, participation, and shared ownership. It is not simply a place to attend events -- it is a place to belong.

Because we value the depth of connection and shared experiences within SALT, Core membership is intentionally limited in size. Protecting the culture and health of the community matters deeply to us, and we seek families who are ready to engage consistently.
Who We Are
SALT exists to enrich the lives of homeschooling families through community and connection rooted in the love of Jesus. Our activities are led with a Christian worldview, and while families come from a variety of backgrounds, all members are expected to respect our faith-based values and community standards. SALT is not a drop-off program or a class-based co-op. We are a relational community where families are expected to show up, participate, and contribute together.
What Shapes Our Culture
All members are expected to uphold our Standards of Excellence, which focus on:
-
Christ-like character
-
Encouraging speech
-
Humility and teachability
-
Respect for leadership and one another
-
Modesty and appropriateness in dress

These standards shape the heart and culture of SALT across all activities and gatherings.
Participation & Shared Responsibility
Core membership depends on:
-
Active participation in events & programming
-
Shared responsibility through a structured volunteer system
-
Respect for policies, leadership, and host facilities
-
Alignment with established policies and expectations

SALT thrives when families contribute together.

Is SALT Core a Good Fit for Your Family?
SALT Core may be a good fit if you are looking for:
-
A Christ-centered homeschool community
-
Relational connection & shared responsibility over convenience
-
Clear expectations paired with grace and discernment

We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether this level of commitment aligns with your family’s current season and capacity for participation.
